It’s been another great term! The walls are filling up but there is always space for more excellent and beautiful things.
Dexter O 7H – Using clay created this miniature of Moses separating the sea to allow the Hebrews their freedom in the promised land. This piece was inspired by lessons from the Judaism unit “How do we know where we belong?”. During this unit students were given the opportunity afterschool to watch The Prince of Egypt (DreamWorks) to consolidate what we had learnt in class in a musical way.

Faith M 7S – was also inspired by the story of Isaac’s sacrifice from the Judaism unit. Here you can see Abraham ready to kill his son Isaac and the ram that he later sacrificed. The illustration behind shows that the sacrifice did not go ahead (spoiler!) and instead Abraham was allowed to keep Isaac as he had proved to God that he wanted the covenant.

Amara S 7N – offers another interpretation of the sacrifice of Isaac in this stylised and minimal approach to the famous scene. Here Amara has included the stars in the sky to remind the viewer that Abraham was promised as many children as there were stars.

Sophia D 7H – produced this epic flipbook story to show the task that Moses had to complete in Egypt. She focuses on the emotions of Moses and the first miracle. To achieve this Sophia took several weeks working at home – with the weekly reassurance “I’m working on it, you’ll be impressed” – and of course we were.
Year 7 Artwork in RE 4
Cassidy 7H – made this using pipe cleaners and tissue paper to show the power of God in the burning bush scene. As you can see from Moses’ face he is shocked!
Year 7 Artwork in RE 5
Emma C 7N – also recreated the sacrifice of Isaac using paper.
Year 7 Artwork in RE 6 - 1
Faith M 7S – continued wowing us with her creative work with a response to ‘The Fall of Man’. Using a stone and paint she created the fruit itself with the snake to adorn it.
Year 7 Artwork in RE 6 - 2
Tia S 7H – using paints and a canvas decided to focus on the tree from the fall story. Tia said “I wanted the tree to look the most appealing thing; it must have been”.
